What does GabeN mean?

GabeN is an original emote created for the streaming website as part of the BTTV emotes.

The emote features Gabe Newell, the co-founder and leader of Valve Corporation, from a portrait view, with a mild smile.

The emote can be used to react to insane luck of given streamer while playing a game or to wish someone good luck.



What's the origin of GabeN?

GabeN as a meme started in 2010. during the reveal of Team Fortress 2 while commentating, Gabe Newell said his email address witch starts with the word “gaben”.

This has started a YouTube meme spread with funny GabeN mashup videos and later became the “Lord Gaben” meme/reaction image, when steam sales started to rise in popularity, but on streaming sites like the meme started to spread with unboxing videos becoming more common.
