The origin of the phrase “Coincidence? I Think Not!” is from the 2004 Disney Pixar movie The Incredibles. In the movie, there is a scene where Dash Parr and his teacher Bernie Kropp are in a situation where Mr. Kropp is trying to prove to Dash’s mom, that Dash was the one putting needles on his chair. He’s trying to prove himself right by highlighting that Dash is making a minor move just at the moment when he was sitting down, to which the teacher exclaims “Coincidence? I think not!”
An isolated clip of the scene was uploaded to YouTube by Thecomment on March 10th, 2011. Shortly after this, reaction image macros memes and GIFs started emerging online.
