Doctor Strange premiered in the United States on October 20th, 2016.
Toward the end of the film, Doctor Strange (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) is confronting an interdimensional being and villain of the movie; Dormammu with the intention of striking a deal, saving Earth.
He does so by casting a magical glyph, that gets himself and Dormammu trapped in a time loop, resulting in him dying a myriad of times, before Dormammu finally allows him to negotiate.
