What's the origin of My Money Don’t Jiggle Jiggle?
The original “My Money Don’t Jiggle Jiggle” rap has been around for quite a while, first perfomed by Theroux in 2000, during the finale of Season 3 of “Louis Theroux’s Weird Weekends.”
The episode depicted the journalist performing his rap in the New Orleans based radio station WQUE-FM. The lyrics start with the line “My money don’t jiggle, jiggle, it folds” and even features an interpolation of Neil Diamond‘s “Red Red Wine.”
It first emerged again in February 2022, when Theroux was featured in an episode of Amelia Dimoldenberg‘s chicken shop date, where the journalist rapped his lyrics acapella. This performance was then remixed and shared on the TikTok account of Duke & Jones in March 2022, becoming a viral meme in a short timespan.
