Wakanda forever is an internet catchphrase that was popularized on various media platforms during the late 2010s and early 2020s.

Wakanda is a fictional country that exists in the Marvel universe, and also the home of the superhero Black Panther.

The catchphrase is used as a battle cry in the Black Panther Marvel movies. Online, it usually appears featured in image macros and reaction memes. A voice sample saying the catchphrase also became the topic of a TikTok trend in 2019.

What's the origin of Wakanda Forever?

The phrase initially appeared in the movie Avengers: Infinity War in 2018. The movie featured a scene in which the Wakanda army lines up to go into battle against Thanos. The Black Panther (portrayed by Chadwick Boseman) hypes up the army as their leader by crying ‘Wakanda forever’ before charging towards the enemy.

Later on, the character of the Black Panther got his own movie series from Marvel, and the sequel received the title Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever.
