Wouldn’t you like to know, weather boy? is a question heard in a viral skit from Fox 5 News.

The skit depicts the meteorologist approach a kid at a firework stand and ask him what the best firework is, to which the kid makes the comeback “wouldn’t you like to know, weather boy?”.

An early case of the video online was uploaded to YouTube by Fireattack142 on June 29th, 2017, recorded directly off of their TV, with a camera.

The same day, Twitter user LVNative90 uploaded a longer clip with better quality to Twitter.

While many viewers thought the video was real, Ted Pretty, the meteorologist in the video revealed in a tweet on June 28th, that the child was his son.

How did Wouldn’t You Like to Know, Weather Boy spread?

In the summer of 2017, several parodies and edits of the original video were uploaded to YouTube, with people making sequels to the “wouldn’t you like to know, weather boy?” saga.

In 2019, image macros of the kid and the quote would start emerging online, on sites like Tumblr, Reddit, Twitter and iFunny.
