G Fazos

What does G Fazos mean?

G Fazos is a slang term used to refer to a specific model of Nike shoes – the Air Force 1‘s (not Black Air Force 1‘s, mind you).

Originally, these shoes were popular among African Americans, particularly in the hip-hop and rap communities. However, due to the heavy influence of hip-hop on pop culture, the trend has since spread to people of all races and backgrounds.

Today, “G Fazos” are a staple in the sneaker world and a must-have for anyone looking to make a fashion statement. In fact, the term has become so popular that there was even a petition to rename the entire Air Force 1 collection to “G-Fazos.”

While the petition didn’t succeed, there’s no denying the impact that the slang term had on the fashion world. So, if you’re looking to stay on top of the latest sneaker trends, be sure to add a pair of “G Fazos” to your collection.

What's the origin of G Fazos?

The term “G Fazos” originated in Chicago and was coined by none other than rapper G Herbo (also known as Lil Herb).

In his 2015 hit track Rollin, he rapped about the all-white sneakers and advised people not to step on them, getting the slang expression on the map.

“G Fazos”immediately caught the attention of sneakerheads and fashion enthusiasts alike, leading to increased sales for the Nike-owned brand.

Spread & Usage

How did G Fazos spread?

The large scale spread of the slang expression began in 2017, when a die-hard fan of G Herbo, started a petition to rename the iconic shoes to “G Fazos” in honor of his favorite artist.

Although the petition did not succeed, it did manage to create a buzz around the term, and soon enough, G Herbo‘s girlfriend gifted him with 22 pairs of the shoes for his 22nd birthday.

This act put the term in the spotlight, and it quickly spread like wildfire, not just among G Herbo‘s fans but also among other rappers and influencers.

Today, the term has become a catchphrase for those who want to show off their sneaker collection or simply to join in on the trend. Even the popular app TikTok has seen a surge in videos featuring the term “G Fazos”.
