Meaning
What does Omorashi mean?
The word Omorashi is a Japanese expression meaning “to wet oneself.” It is the name of a popular paraphilia, whereby someone retains sexual satisfaction by wetting themselves or watching someone else do so.
“Omorashi” or “Omo” for short originated in Japan and has gained popularity worldwide. It involves experiencing sexual arousal from having a full bladder or wetting oneself, or watching someone else do so. This fetish is often associated with the act of holding one’s bladder for an extended period of time until it becomes unbearable and leads to an orgasmic release.
While “Omorashi” is often confused with “Urolagnia”, which is the act of urinating on someone for sexual pleasure, they are different and are classified separately by the Handbook of Clinical Sexuality for Mental Health Professionals. “Omorashi” focuses on the sensation of having a full bladder and the discomfort that comes with it, while “Urolagnia” is more about the act of urination itself.
Despite being a taboo topic, “Omorashi” has gained a significant following in recent years. Many people find pleasure in exploring their sexuality through this fetish subculture. However, it is important to remember that all forms of sexual expression should be consensual and safe for all parties involved.
The paraphilia has several branches, all of which satisfy one specific desire of an individual. These include diaper, and skirt “Omorishi.”
The fetish has been the subject of countless published hentai, as well as several periodicals, which are targeting the “Omorishi” subculture, predominantly in Japan.
Origin
What's the origin of Omorashi?
“Omorashi” as a paraphilia was named after the Japanese word for wetting oneself, in the 1970s.
Initially, it was featured in “pink movies”, revolving around sexual themes, due to the strict Japanese laws on nudity and sexuality appearing onscreen. One of the earliest “pink movie” depicting “Omorashi” was the 1973 Terrifying Girls’ High School: Lynch Law Classroom.
Following the debut of this animation, wetting scenes were included in various anime movies, however, they weren’t created out of a specific sexual aim until 1984, when Wonder Kids released their hentai animation, titled Lolita.
Spread & Usage
How did Omorashi spread?
Although “Omorashi” is a paraphilia mostly endorsed in Japan, there are some minor communities across the globe, including the United States, where “Omorashi” has been around since the 1970s. This community has even been the subject of a Vice News article, published in 2018.
Since the 1970s, however, “Omorashi” is way more widespread, especially due to the availability of media on the internet.
Today, there are plenty of movies, animations, comics, fanfiction stories, as well as video games, that explore the subject of the fetish. A popular video game about “Omorashi” is Water Closet: The Forbidden Chamberwhich.
Although the paraphilia is not nearly as common in the West as it is in Japan, due to the influence of Japanese culture, more and more people are exposed to it and find interest in the subculture.
