What does Gekyume mean?

Gekyume is a term, coined by the famously dead hip hop artist XXXTentacion, referring to an altered, higher state of mind; “a next universe of reason”.

The one and only child of the artist was also named “Gekyume”.

XXXTentacion was a popular rapper, from 2017 to his death in 2018.

In March 2018, the artist explained on Instagram that he is about to create a new word; “gekyume” which he and his family explained to refer to a higher plane of thought.

“Gekyume” had spread quickly, and by May 2018, a large amount of Urban Dictionary definitions were uploaded, attempting to explain the word.

The term is also a name of a mysterious prophetic character in his post-mortem song “Sad!”.

Following the death of the rapper, his mother announced that the name of her grandson would be “Gekyume”.

This led to the creation of a plethora of memes, about the absurdity of the amount of attention, the child would receive, especially about his circumcision.

The theme was approached by a lot of Twitter users, as well as appearing on other social media platforms.
