Hide yo kid hide yo wife is a very famous quote said by Antoine Dodson in a 2010 local television interview.

They interviewed a couple of people, including Dodson, about a home invasion and attempted rape of his sister by climbing into her bedroom window, before being chased off by Antoine.

After the video went viral and became an internet sensation, it resulted in the Bed Intruder Song, which is an auto-tuned song made by The Gregory Brothers.

What's the origin of Hide Yo Kids Hide Yo Wife?

In 2010, Antoine Dodson was a resident of the Lincoln Park housing project with his family in Huntsville, Alabama

That is when he was asked about his thoughts of the situation by Elizabeth Gentle, a reporter for NBC affiliate WAFF-48 News.

He addressed: “Well, obviously we have a rapist in Lincoln Park. He’s climbing in your windows, he’s snatching your people up, trying to rape them.”

Then he continued with the quote that made him so famous: “So y’all need to hide yo kids, hide yo wife, and hide yo husband cause they raping everybody out here.”

A couple of days later parts of the interview were transformed into the overly auto-tuned song Bed Intruder Song with around 148 million views on Youtube.

The song by The Gregory Brothers sold thousands of copies on iTunes and also appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 list at No. 89.

In October 2010, Dodson gave a live overall performance of the Bed Intruder Song with Michael Gregory of The Gregory Brothers at the 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards.

The video of Dodson’s interview obtained a surprising popularity, and it not only inspired the Bed Intruder Song, but covers, remixes of the song, and in all likelihood tens of thousands of memes.
