One early case of “Intensifies” comes from the subtitles of Breaking Bad, when in Season 5 Episode 4, Walter White and Water White Jr. (played by Bryan Cranston and RJ Mitte respectively) are revving their car engines. The subtitles of the scene display “Revving Intensifies”.

The episode was aired on August 5th, 2012, and an early case of the meme emerged on the /tv board of 4chan in December, 2012.
