Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame premiered in the United States on April 26th, 2019.
One of the final scenes of the film depicts Falcon (played by Anthony Mackie) talking with Rogers about Peggy Carter (portrayed by Hayley Atwell).
When Falcon asks if Steve wants to tell him about the woman in question, the Captain replies with a meaningful smile “No I don’t think I will”.

The first meme created from the scene was uploaded to Reddit’s r/memes subreddit on May 3rd, 2019 by u/prins_salana.
By the end of the month, the format had already spread to Imgur, appearing both on GIFs and reaction image macros.
In the following months, “No, I don’t think I will” would appear on major social media sites, like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook as well as various meme related subreddits.
The meme was further propagated in late May 2019, when the phrase “No, I don’t think I will” also appeared in the Keanu Reeves action movie flick John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.
