No Touchy

Meaning

What does No Touchy mean?

No touchy (or no touchie) refers to the series of reaction memes and images macros which feature various characters from the animated Disney movie The Emperor’s New Groove.

These memes are commonly applied when someone finds something repulsive, or when someone doesn’t respect personal space and boundaries.

There are also all kinds of merchandise accessible online that feature no touchy, which is also a well-recognized quote among fans of The Emperor’s New Groove.

No touchy!

Origin

What's the origin of No Touchy?

The Emperor’s New Groove premiered in the U.S. in the year 2000. Kuzco, the emperor, who is one of the protagonists of the movie, is having a discussion with his simple-minded subordinate Kronk.

Once getting approached by Kronk, Kuzco refuses to be lifted, and he utters: “No touchy! No touchy… no touch!”.

This sentence later makes a reappearance in the movie, when Kuzco says the exact same thing after he had turned into a llama, to a different character named Pacha.

However, the no touchy meme got reawakened after the global spread of Coronavirus in 2020.
