You Will?

Meaning

What does You Will? mean?

You will? Is an image macro, used as a reaction image, from the 2012 Tarantino movie, Django Unchained.

The meme depicts the character Calvin Candie, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, getting rapidly zoomed at and posing the question; “You will?”.

Origin

What's the origin of You Will??

Django Unchained has been a major cinematographic success for both Tarantino and the actors, who played in the motion picture.

Not only that, but the movie supplied the internet with the freshest meme templates for years.

Reaction images, such as “I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist” or “You had my curiosity, but now you have my attention” as well as Leonardo DiCaprio Laughing all originate from the same motion picture.

“You will?” is heard in the movie, when the aide of the protagonist, Dr. King Schultz proposes to compensate Candie for his loss on a Mandingo fighter.

Hearing this, the plantation owner turns around, with the cameras zooming in on him rapidly, as he poses the question.

The first instance of the macro was uploaded to Comics and Memes, as a collection of Famous Blank Memes (templates to make your own meme).

Soon after that, on September 16th, 2020 a Star Wars meme was created, using the template and uploaded to the /r/prequelmemes subreddit ChodDoPixi69.

Spread & Usage

How did You Will? spread?

2020 had already been a year of Leo memes from Django Unchained, thanks to the major prominence of the Leonardo DiCaprio Laughing meme.

This had led to a rapid recognition and massive appreciation of the newly emerged macro, and soon after the post in r/prequelmemes, the template started spreading on Reddit, especially the r/dankmemes subbreddit.

“You will?” spread within days; it started to turn up on Instagram memes and 9Gag by September 19th, 2020.
