What does Groverhaus mean?
Groverhaus, also referred to as Grover house is a DIY construction project of a Something Awful forums user who goes by the nickname Grover.
The project, which was shared on the forum had gotten notorious, as many users criticized the end results’ design elements and Grover’s endeavor, although the building would certainly pass as a royal Trap House.

The first post about the “Groverhaus” was shared on Something Awful on December 30th, 2006, where Grover went into detail about him and his significant other expanding their house without professional help.
Grover shared a couple of pictures of the process as well as the end results.

How did Groverhaus spread?
Throughout the 2010’s, various photos, comments and threads have been shared online, concerning the unorthodox and aesthetically debatable delivery of the “Groverhaus”.
One of the most popular of these threads can be linked to Twitter user @3liza who raises numerous points about the fallacies of the design, paired with photos.
The tweet thread was shared on July 29th, 2017.
In 2019, the popularity of the “Groverhaus” phenomenon rose even higher, as forum threads, YouTube reviews and even an Imgur gallery of the estate, uploaded by crompchwrapsUWUpreme, appeared on the web.
“Groverhaus” peaked in popularity in August 2020, as it was featured in an eBaum’s World post, where it was revealed that the building is included even in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
This inclusion also spawned memes on Twitter, iFunny and other websites.
