It is more or less a synonym for the famous slang expression “get the bread”. The slang “secure the bag” initially comes from the hip hop culture. However, it was adopted by many.

What's the origin of Secure the bag?
On 23 November 2016, the Youtube channel WorldStartHipHop posted the clip of the latest song Lil Uzi Vert and Gucci Mane.
Thanks to that song, the phrase quickly earned a global presence. It also became a very famous slang in hip hop culture, including the song titled “Secure the bag” by Migos.
Spread & Usage
How did Secure the bag spread?
The phrase “secure the bag” was also adopted by the supporters of the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, Andrew Yang.
It was referring to his universal basic income proposal, Freedom Dividend, which would grant every US adult citizen with $1000 a month.
On March 14th, 2019 Andrew Yang tweeted “Traveling with my staff, I told someone to secure the bag”. Within one day, the tweet received over 9,000 likes and 2,000 retweets.
Also, the first entry submitted on Urban Dictionary was on July 7th, 2017 by the user Slayballs, describing the expression as “the bag being anything you want/desire”.
