Origin

What's the origin of Turnt?

Initially coined as “Turned” or “Turned Up”, the word’s phonetics led to its written form being altered with a concluding “t”. This tweak in spelling was driven by popular usage and has since become widely accepted. It may also be retraced to the influence of hip-hop culture, which has a tendency for phonetic spelling.

While the earliest recorded online definition dates back to 2005, it is plausible that this term had been circulating even before cyberspace.
