What does Phrogging mean?
Phrogging is a synonymous expression for Squatting, with both being used for the act of living in a house without the consent or the knowledge of the owner, or possibly the other inhabitants.
Those pursuing this lifestyle are usually referred to as Phrogs, due to the fact that they move from place to place, like a Frog, mostly out of necessity and not just because it FeelsGoodMan.

What's the origin of Phrogging?
Although the exact origin of the expression is shrouded in mystery, it was first defined on Urban Dictionary on July 13th, 2006, with numerous other entries that followed in the following years.
The first time “Progging” emerged in an online discussion can be linked to a thread on The Straight Dope Message Board, posted in August 2007, inquiring whether the phenomenon was real.

How did Phrogging spread?
On December 16th, 2014, a short film premiered at the New York Film Academy, with the title “Phrogging”.
Despite this, the expression didn’t see widespread use until 2019, when the concept was explored by yet another motion picture flick, I See You.
Since then, the interned has been swarmed with various articles and entries, trying to explain the phenomenon to a wider audience.
On January 22nd, 2021, electronic music artist Enigma dubz released a song under the title “Phrogging”.
